Description

A very important Veneto-Cretan icon of The Virgin, Madre della Consolazione. The icon has two angels
(top left and right). The Christ Child presents a ring to St Alexandria (of Egypt). This subject matter is exceedingly rare. 17th century.

Stunning and in a very good condition. Written on gold leaf.
